AKRON, Ohio – An Akron man is accused of having sexual contact with a woman in the Intensive Care Unit at Akron General Medical Center.
Ronald E. St. Clair, 63, was charged Friday with gross sexual imposition.
Akron police said St. Clair is the woman’s neighbor. A police spokesman said the assault happened in October. The 75-year-old woman was on a ventilator and couldn’t tell police what happened. She recently moved to a rehab facility and was able to tell officers about the incident.
According to the police report, a witness who works at the hospital said the victim’s blood pressure alarm would go off when St. Clair was in the hospital room. A nurse escorted him out.
St. Clair was arrested Wednesday. He is free on bond. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
