Kansas City police released two dash-cam videos of NFL star Jovan Belcher’s final moments, including an early morning car check and the police response to Arrowhead Stadium, where the linebacker stood in the parking lot holding a gun to his head.
Police first approached Belcher at 3 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, when they found him sleeping in his car after a night of clubbing.
Throughout the 10-minute video, the linebacker, who identified himself as a Chiefs player, cooperated with police.
Belcher, 25, can be heard telling officers he planned to go into the apartment building. An officer advised him it would be the best thing for him to do because “you have a lot to lose.”
The officers thanked Belcher for cooperating and the video ended with him walking away from his car and toward the building.
Hours later, Belcher shot his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, nine times. The 22-year-old, who recently had a child with Belcher, died before medical help could arrive.
